Vinification and Ageing

The grapes are destemmed, crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place over 8–10 days at a controlled temperature of approximately 26°C.

Malolactic fermentation is completed by the beginning of winter. The wine then undergoes a further period of ageing in stainless steel tanks for approximately 8 months.

Historical Background

In Puglia, winemaking is both a tradition rooted in history and a source of innovation. Tormaresca embodies these two qualities: character, personality and quality potential are among the distinctive features that the Puglian terroir gives to both indigenous and international grape varieties grown in the region.

It was with this vision that, in 1998, the Antinori family began investing in Puglia, recognising the region as one of the most promising areas in Italy for producing high-quality wines with a strong sense of territorial identity.

Tasting Notes

NèPriCa Primitivo displays an intense ruby-red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, notes of red fruit, including sour cherry, blackberry and raspberry, are complemented by delicate, well-integrated spicy nuances of liquorice.

On the palate, it is smooth and rounded, supported by pleasant freshness and good savouriness. The finish is pleasantly fruity, leaving a delicate and persistent fruity aftertaste
