PRODUCER
Bodegas Valdemar is a family company whose roots date back to 1889. Its Rioja estate of over 350 hectares makes it one of the most important and historically significant single estates in the appellation. Their winemaking has remained experimental and forward-thinking throughout, with a commitment to quality at all price points and the launch of several new ranges that have made Valdemar’s wines known well beyond their home region.
VINEYARD
The grapes are sourced from the Rioja Alavesa sub-zone, grown on calcareous clay soils at between 400 and 505 metres above sea level. The harvest was carried out by a combination of hand and machine.
WINERY
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control at 16°C for fifteen days, after which the wine was aged on its fine lees before bottling. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out.
TASTING NOTE
An intense and fresh nose with white fruit notes of pear and citrus, with fine nuances of aromatic herbs and white flowers. The palate is tasty and vibrant, with a persistent and long finish.
